What is peyote?

Mescaline is a natural alkaloid that is the active principle of peyote, a small brown-gray cactus Central America. It is in the form of white crystalline powder.

 
 
Consumption form: 

Mescaline is usually taken orally, but it can also be inhaled by smoking the "buttons" of ground peyote.

 

 

What are the effects?

Category: Hallucinogenic
Caractéristics: Peyote also known as peyote is a species of small cactus without thorns of the family Cactaceae, native to southern North America. This cactus contains several alkaloids, including mescaline, used for its psychoactive and hallucinogenic properties. Since ancient time, peyote has been used by natives in northern Mexico and the southern United States as part of traditional religious rites.

Short-term effects:
Physical effects:
  Dilated pupils.
  Nausea and vomiting.
  Increase in body temperature.
 
The most common mental effects:
  Euphoria.
  Increased sensory perception.
  Visual hallucinations.
  Misperception of the body.
  Impaired concentration and impaired short-term memory.
     
In high doses:
  Drop in blood pressure.
  Slow heart rate and breathing.
  Dry skin.
  Headache.
     
Long-term effects:
  May precipitate psychosis in susceptible consumers.


Dependence:
Although any physical dependence, psychological dependence with varying intensity can be observed.
 
 
Legislation :
