What is opium?

Opium is a psychoactive preparation obtained from the latex of the opium poppy. It can be transformed into morphine or heroin. This is one of the substances of vegetable origin rich in alkaloids.

 
 
Consumption form: 

Absorbed orally.

Can be smoked or eaten.

 

 

What are the effects?

Category: Depressant
Caractéristics: Opium is obtained by incising ripening capsules shortly after petal fall. They then quickly exude a thick white latex which darkened within hours as it dries in the sun. When this sap is brown, the capsules are scraped with a knife to get it back: it is pure raw opium.

Effects:
The first shots cause nausea, it is only thereafter that the user feels a sense of euphoria and elation.
 
  Intense feeling of wellbeing.
  Restlessness, nausea and vomiting.
  Staring accompanied by sleep loss, fatigue.
  Feeling of warmth and heaviness.
  Changing mood.
  State of gratification when hunger, pain and sexual urges are absent.
 
Long-term effects:
  Dilated pupils.
  Itchy skin.
  Dry mouth.
  Slowed breathing.
  Possible to mental deterioration.
  Profuse sweating and frequent urination.
  Menstrual irregularities in women.


Dependence:
Physical and very strong psychological dependence.
 
 
Legislation :
